Trademarks (or trade marks) and service marks identify SiliconBlue as the source (or owner) of a good or service. It distinguishes our goods and services from those of other companies and is used to promote our brand. The more often our trademarked names are used, the more likely we are to claim legal ownership of the terms.
When a trademark is registered with the government, it becomes legal property of SiliconBlue and cannot be claimed by other companies.
Trademarks should always be identified in print by the following symbols:
(for an unregistered trademark, that is, a mark used to promote or brand goods)
(for a registered trademark)
(for an unregistered service mark, that is, a mark used to promote or brand services)
When writing about SiliconBlue and our products, always refer to the SiliconBlue trademark list and use the appropriate legal symbol. You only need to use the ® or ™ symbol at the first mention in the body copy (and never in headlines, titles, subheads, diagrams or tops of slides). Unbound documents (such as Microsoft PowerPoint presentations and web pages) must have at least one appropriate mark on every page.
Trademarks must always be used as adjectives followed by a generic noun. For instance:
- CORRECT uses of trademark:
Nothing beats the ultra-low power benefits of the iCE65™ device. Together with the iCEcube™ development software, customers can accelerate platform evolution.
- INCORRECT uses of trademark:
Nothing beats the ultra-low power of iCE65™. Together with iCEcube™, customers can accelerate platform evolution.
